About Rosie
ROSIE BEACH Cert Ed; BA (Hons); MEd; ACCEG
Rosie was born in Warwickshire and currently lives in the West Midlands. She spent most of her career before retirement working in the education sector. A qualified biologist she specialised in the fields of Ecology and Conservation.
More recently she has enthusiastically explored and developed further her life-time passion for creative art. Through the use of a wide variety of painting media (acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and pen and ink) her work is eclectic in both style and subject matter. These span landscapes, seascapes, animal life and botanical illustrations. She is an active member of two local Art Groups and regularly participates in exhibitions and workshops held within the Midlands area. In addition she leads adult instruction classes in the use of watercolours and other media at various forums in her locality. She is also a member of St Ives School of Painting Alumni Group.
Over the years Rosie has had a number of opportunities to fulfil her desire and enjoyment of foreign travel, especially within Europe and the U.S.A. She currently spends several weeks throughout the year pursuing her love of painting in the South of France.
One of her most recent commissions was from Bowdens Nurseries (a plant supplier specialising in Ferns, Hostas, Agapanthus and Bamboos). The company is a multiple RHS gold medal winner and held a Royal Warrant for Highgrove House.
Rosie was contracted to produce a painting of a vintage style hot air balloon to complement the company’s main theme to their display at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
All the company’s promotional material for the event incorporated this painting and it was subsequently also displayed at the RHS Hampton Court and Tatton Park events.
Rosie has been contracted to the roles of Artist in Residence and Art Instructor with Fred Olsen cruise ships.
